Pune collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh puts restrictions on gatherings to curb Omicron cases
Pune : Policenama online – Pune District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh has imposed strict restrictions in the wake of rising Omicron cases in the civic and rural areas of the district. Not more than 50 people will be allowed for marriages and similar occasion while 20 would be the limit for attending funeral.
The Omicron cases in the district is steadily rising since last few weeks. Therefore, the district administration has issued instructions regarding weddings, political and religious gathering, tourism etc. The restrictions, imposed on the eve of the new year would continue till until new orders from the district administration.
The maximum number of attendees for marriage and other social gatherings held in open or closed spaces will be 50. Same would apply for social, cultural, political and religious gatherings. For funerals and similar occasions maximum 20 people would be the limit.
People have been banned from crowding at tourist places and even open spaces and grounds. The administrations has warned to initiate strict action against violators.
