Pune crime | Accused denied bail in extortion case involving famous builder Yuvraj Dhamale

Pune : Policenama online Pune crime |  A court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of the three accused in city-based famous builder Yuvraj Dhamale extortion case. Dhamale was also issued death threats, if he failed to pay Rs 15 lakh by the accused.

An offence of extortion was registered against the three persons at the Kondhwa police station. The accused filed a plea in the court for anticipatory bail, which has been rejected, said complainant Yuvraj Dhamale’s lawyer Adv Vijaysinh Thombare.

Builder Yuvraj Sitaram Dhamale (41), a resident of Dhankawadi, lodged a complaint on Wednesday in this regard. The Kondhwa police booked Ravilala Devjibhai Prajapati, a resident of Kondhwa, Jitu Prajapati and an unknown person.

The accused filed a petition in the sessions court for anticipatory bail. Public prosecutor Adv Rajesh Kavediya and Adv Thombare strongly opposed their plea.

After hearing arguments from both sides, Sessions Judge GP Agrawal rejected the anticipatory bail petition.

Case details

Construction work is underway in front of complainant Yuvraj Dhamale’s Gokul Hotel in Kondhwa. The flats which are ready at this site have been handed over to most flat owners, except some. A cooperative housing society has also been formed of the flat owners.

Accused Ravilala Prajapati has also been given possession of a flat. However, he, along with Jitu Prajapati and another accused, called a meeting of society members and raised a dispute.

He threatened Dhamale that he would provoke other members to file a complaint against him and defame him. He also demanded Rs 15 lakh, failing which he threatened Dhamale to crush under a car.

The police booked the accused after Yuvraj Dhamale furnished proofs.
