Case registered against woman at Kothrud police station for cheating women by asking them to invest in fund
Pune: Policenama online – Pune Crime | An incident has been reported where many women were cheated by asking them to invest in a fund by promising high returns. A 56-year-old woman has lodged a complaint at the Kothrud police station. Accordingly, the police have registered a case against Manisha Babu Marne (35), a resident of Hanuman Nagar, Kelewadi. The incident took place between September 15, 2017 to July 29, 2022. (Pune Crime)
According to the police, Manisha Marne won the trust of the complainant and other women and told them to invest in a fund by promising high returns. She took Rs 2 lakh 62 thousand 600 from the complainant and took money from other women. When the complainant wanted her money back, she was told that the money had been invested somewhere else. She was told to wait for some days and was promised that she would get her money back. Hence, by giving evasive answers, she cheated the complainant and other women.
