Cop on bandobast duty during CM’s visit seriously injured after auto-rickshaw hits him
Pune: Policenama online – Pune Crime | Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was in the city on Wednesday to visit various Ganpati pandals. A policeman on bandobast duty during his visit was grievously injured by an auto man, who tried to run over the cop with his vehicle. (Pune Crime)
The victim, police constable Shreenath Sampat Kamble (32), a resident of Lohegaon, lodged a complaint at the Yerwada police station in this regard. Siddheshwar Basaveshwar Pujari (33) has been booked. The incident took place at Sadalbaba Chowk at around 9.30 am on Wednesday.
Kamble was monitoring traffic at the chowk as the CM was visiting the city. The auto man came from the wrong direction and knocked the policeman down. Kamble’s right leg was badly injured in the incident. PSI Patil is investigating.
