Pune Crime | FIR filed against 190 auto drivers for staging protest outside RTO

Pune : Policenama onlinePune Crime | The Bund Garden police have registered an FIR against activists of Baghtoy Rickshawala organisation for staging a protest demanding a ban on bike taxis of Ola and Uber by blocking the road opposite the Regional Transport Office. (Pune Crime)


The FIR has been filed against the president of the organisation, Dr Keshav Nana Kshirsagar and 189 other activists.


Bike taxi service has been started in the city without any permission. Although the RTO is taking action against them, the organisation is demanding a ban on their apps. The organisation had staged an agitation in front of the RTO on Saturday from 10.30 am to 5.45 pm.


Hence, the activists had blocked the road going from RTO towards Jehangir Hospital and obstructed the traffic. The activists of the organisation had made speeches by using loudspeakers without permission in the vicinity of Ruby Hall Clinic, Jehangir Hospital and NM Wadia Hospital.


This had forced the ambulances to take a long detour to go to the various hospitals and this could have endangered the lives of seriously ill patients. The activists were aware of this but still they resorted to blocking the road inconveniencing the citizens.


They did not wear masks and did not follow the social distancing norms and violated the instructions issued by government officials. Hence, the FIR has been filed against them.
