Harassment forces girl to commit suicide; three including husband arrested by Viman Nagar police
Pune : Policenama online – Pune Crime | A married girl who was fed of constant demands to get jewellery and money from her parents, committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling. The Viman Nagar police have arrested her husband and three others. (Pune Crime)
The arrested have been identified as husband Sagar Devidas Pandit (22), mother-in-law Sheila Devidas Pandit (55) and sister-in-law Nirmala Devidas Athavale (37), all residents of Rajiv Nagar, south Viman Nagar. The deceased has been identified as Sanjana Manish Tribhuvan (19). Her mother Yogita Manish Tribhuvan (40), a resident of race course, Wanawadi has lodged a complaint at the Viman Nagar police station.
According to the police, the complainant’s daughter Sanjana and Sagar Pandit had got married on June 14, 2021. Sanjana was being repeatedly told that Sagar needed a Honda motorcycle apart from a ring and a chain and hence, she should get money from her parents. She was being regularly being beaten up and tortured. Sanjana, who was fed with the torture, committed suicide on Monday by hanging herself to the ceiling.
