Kondhwa police arrest notorious criminal for possessing pistol
Pune : Policenama online – Pune Crime | A notorious criminal has been arrested by the Kondhwa police for possessing an unlicensed pistol. The police have seized a country-made pistol and three live cartridges from him. The Kondhwa police took this action at the table spot in Bopdev Ghat.
The accused has been identified as Prasad alias Sonya Maruti Sable (20), a resident of Pragati-C-12 Gharkul, Chikhali, Chinchwad. The officials and policemen of the Kondhwa police station were patrolling the area to trace the accused in burglary and two-wheeler theft cases. Policemen Ganesh Chinchkar and Tushar Alhat got information that one person is waiting at the table spot in Bopdev Ghat and he is waiting for somebody. They came to know that he has a pistol-like weapon.
The police laid a trap and apprehended him. When he was searched, a country-made pistol was found and three live cartridges were found in three plastic like boxes. An FIR under the Arms Act has been registered against him. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against the accused at Wakad police station and the police came to know that he is absconding. API Anil Survase is investigating the case.
The action was taken by a team of police officials including API Anil Survase, policemen Assistant Police Faujdar Asgar Ali Sayyad, havaldar Yogesh Kumbhar, Amol Hirve, Tushar Alhat, Deepak Jade, Abhijit Ratnaparkhi, Mahesh Rathod and Jaidev Bhosale under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Sardar Patil, Police Inspector Gokul Raut and Police Inspector Jagannath Jankar.
