Pune Crime | Man cheats bank of Rs 6.75 crore by mortgaging dispute properties in Pune

Pune : Policenama online – Pune Crime | An incident has been reported wherein a man took a loan of Rs 5 crore from a bank by mortgaging his properties even when a dispute over the properties is going on in a court. He has cheated the bank of Rs 6.75 crore. (Pune Crime)
The manager of Central Bank of India’s Camp branch, Prashant Kumar Gupta, has lodged a complaint at the Lashkar police station. Accordingly, the police have filed an FIR against Kamlesh Rajendra Betala (34), a resident of Suparshavnath Society, Bibvewadi. The incident took place from February 3, 2017 and July 22, 2022.
According to the police, Kamlesh Betala had mortgaged two properties with the Central Bank of India and taken a loan of Rs five crore. The bank approved the loan on February 3, 2017. However, he has still not repaid the loan. When the bank probed the case, they realised that a case concerning the properties is going on in a court. The court has ruled that nobody should create a third party interests on the properties. It became clear that Betala had suppressed this fact and taken a loan from the bank by misleading it.
Betala has cheated the bank of Rs six crore, 70 lakh, 60 thousand and 492 (principal and interest) by not repaying the loan. Police Inspector Shelke is investigating the case.
