Man throttles wife on suspicion of character
Pune : Policenama online – Pune Crime | An incident has come to light wherein a woman was beaten up and killed by throttling her. The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Chandan Nagar police station on March 2 from 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm. An FIR was lodged against her husband on March 3. (Pune Crime)
The deceased has been identified as Sitamma alias Kishan Krushnappa Chavan (35), a resident of an area near the last bus stop of Wadgaon Sheri. The accused has been identified as Kishan alias Krushnappa Tulappa Chavan (42), a resident of an area near the last bus stop of Wadgaon Sheri. Jagannath Honba Rathod (41), a resident of Manjri, Hadapsar and hailing from Raichur district, Karnataka has lodged a complaint.
According to the police, the accused and the deceased used to stay in a temporary tin shed in an area belonging to Balasaheb Chandere behind the Lonkar School. The accused was suspicious of his wife’s character and there were frequent quarrels between them. There was a quarrel on the same issue on Wednesday evening. The accused assaulted his wife and throttled her.
The police reached the spot after receiving the information. They carried out a panchnama and sent the body for post-mortem. A case of murder has been filed against the accused. PSI Vivek Sisal is carrying out the investigation.
