Pune Crime News | API accused of accepting bribe of three tola of gold released by court after being found not guilty

PUNE : Pune Crime News | API Vijay Yashwant Mahajan was released after eight years in connection with the case of accepting three tola of gold as bribe. Special Judge DV Kashyap released him after finding him not guilty. Ad Pratap Pardeshi appeared on behalf of API Mahajan.
On February 27, 2015, API Vijay Yashwant Mahajan was arrested after he accepted three tola gold as bribe in Crime Branch unit 4 Chinchwad Pune office. A chargesheet had been filed against him after an FIR was registered against him under sections 7, 11, 13 (1) (D) and 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act. He has been released after being found non-guilty by Special Judge DV Kashyap.
The complainant has a shop Variety Jewellers at Pimple Nilakh. The criminal who was arrested by the accused (API) had admitted that he had sold ornaments to the shopkeeper and hence, the API seized 12 tola gold from the shopkeeper. When he was seizing three tola of gold, he was arrested. The prosecution examined several witnesses. Ad Pratap Pardeshi appeared on behalf of API Mahajan. He was helped by Ad Pramod Dhule and Ad Mahesh Rajguru. The advocate for the accused proved that the API was trapped in a false case when he was seizing three tola of gold. Considering the arguments made by the defence lawyer, the court released the accused after finding him not guilty on account of lack of strong evidence against him.
