Pune Crime News | Bund Garden police station busted inter-state gang targeting bus passengers mobile phones

Pune: Policenama online  – Pune Crime News | The Pune police have arrested the Interstate mobile thieves gang who took advantage of the crowd while boarding the bus and stole the mobile phones of the passengers. Police have seized 12 mobile phones worth Rs 2 lakhs from the four arrested persons. The operation has been done on Maldhakka Road. (Pune Crime News)

The accused has been identified as Satish Venkatesh Madhgolu (22) a resident of Upalpeta in Telangana, Jagadish Bhaskarrao Avala (22) resident of Turkanadi Valsa in Andhra Pradesh, Vikram Shivananth Das (22) resident of Upalpeta in Telangana, Ganesh Krishna God (22) resident of Mahasamund in Chhattisgarh. A case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 379, 34 has been filed in Bund Garden police station on August 5.

The complainant and his cousin were boarding a Keshavnagar-bound bus from Alankar Chowk PMPML bus stop. At that time few people had stolen their mobile phone worth Rs 10,000. The victim registered a complaint at Bund Garden police station that four unknown persons had stolen a mobile worth Rs 10,000 from his pocket. While investigating the crime the police officer Manoj Bhokare of Shivaji Park got information that four people were stopping near Andabhurji’s handcart on the road leading to Maldhakka in front of the Pune stand and they were selling a mobile phone and the mobile phone was suspected to be stolen.

According to the information received the police laid a trap and arrested four persons and interrogated them about the mobile phones and they confessed to the crime and also said that they have carried out the crime in various parts of Pune. Investigation has revealed that the accused has stolen three mobile phones from Bund Garden police station jurisdiction and one from Yerwada police station jurisdiction. 12 mobile phones worth Rs 2,10,000 have been seized from the accused.

The action was initiated under the guidance of Pune police commissioner Ritesh Kumar, joint commissioner Sandeep Karnik, additional commissioner Pravinkumar Patil, deputy commissioner Smartana Patil, assistant commissioner R.N.Raje, senior police inspector Santosh Patil, police inspector crime Ashwini Satpute and done by Ravindra Gawde, Mohan Kale, Anil Kusalkar, Sanjay Wanve, Manoj Bhokre, Shivaji Sarak and Tulsiram Ghade.
