Pune crime | Preventive detention against a hardened criminal in Swargate area for one year under MPDA

Pune : Policenama online – Pune crime | A hardened criminal who was terrorising people within the jurisdiction of the Swargate police station has been placed under preventive detention for one year under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Slumlords, Bootleggers Act (MPDA), 1981.
Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta has evoked the provisions of the Act against 48 criminals in the past one year. He is also curbing criminal activities by slapping the provisions of MCOCA and other such laws.
The hardened criminal in this case has been identified as Ravindra alias Balli Vasant Kamble (30), a resident of Dias Plot, Gultekdi. Preventive detention action has been taken against him. He has been detained in the Aurangabad jail for one year.
Kamble, along with his aides, has been booked in serious crimes such as attempt to murder, robbery, causing injury, unnatural crimes, sodomy, etc. He was booked in six serious crimes in the past one year. Senior PI Balasaheb Kopnar had proposed the action against Kamble.
CP Gupta issued orders in this regard after scrutinising the proposal. He has ordered similar action against 48 criminals in the past one year. The police plan to take strict action against criminals in the future also.
Senior PI Kopnar and PCB (crime branch) Senior PI Vaishali Chandgude took the action.
