Woman commits suicide in Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa after harassment
Pune: Policenama online – Pune Crime | A woman committed suicide because she was being harassed at her in-laws’ house because her husband wanted to marry again. The deceased has been identified as Deepali Samadhan Gaikwad (30), a resident of Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa. (Pune Crime)
Jayashree Duryodhan Sonvate (48), a resident of Rahul Nagar, Nigdi has lodged a complaint at the Mundhwa police station. Accordingly, the police have filed an FIR against Samadhan Maruti Gaikwad, a resident of Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa but hailing from Beed district. The incident happened at 7.45 am on Thursday at Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa.
According to the police, Deepali and Samadhan Gaikwad were married. For the last two years, Samadhan was telling her that he wanted to marry another girl and asked her to go away and had threatened to kill her. He used to abuse her and beat her up.
Deepali, who was fed with the harassment, hanged herself by using a dupatta to the ceiling fan. The police have filed a case against Samadhan Gaikwad for abetting his wife’s suicide. PSI Binawade is conducting a probe into the case.
