Pune | Deccan Queen, Deccan Express, Koyna Express will not run on Sunday due to mega block in Mumbai

Pune :  Policenama online The railway administration has announced a mega block of 18 hours on Sunday for work on the fifth and sixth lines between Thane and Diva stations.

Some trains have been cancelled while others have been short-terminated. The Deccan Queen and Deccan Express running between Pune and Mumbai have been cancelled. The Mumbai-Kolhapur Koyna Express will also not run on Sunday.

The block will start at 8 am on Sunday and will end around midnight. This will hit local train services also. The Hubbali-Dadar Express running on Sunday (December 18) will be short-terminated at the Pune railway station. The train will start its onward journey on December 19 (Sunday) from Pune.

Female leopard dies during fight with another leopard; villager witnesses incident

Ale Phata : Policenama online – A resident of Mukaimala near Ale Phata witnessed a fight between two leopards and a female leopard died during the scuffle on Friday morning.

Many villages in the eastern part of Junnar taluka are located in leopard habitat area. There is a fear of leopards in the minds of the villagers. Some leopards are spotted during the day. There has been an increase in incidents of conflict between leopards and the weaker animal dies in these incidents.

A local farmer was able to witness a fight between two leopards and a female leopard about two and a half to three years old died in the incident. There were injuries on her body and the other leopard had bitten her on the neck, stomach and legs. The second leopard disappeared in the fields.
