Fresh Covid-19 infections decline considerably in Pune on Sunday

Pune : Policenama online – There was a considerable decline in fresh Covid-19 cases within the limits of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Sunday. Over 6,200 cases were reported on Sunday while over 8,200 cases were registered on Saturday, registering a drop of over 2,000.

However, 11 patients succumbed to the infection in the city. Six patients outside Pune also died due to the disease.

The number of active Covid cases in Pune was 46,863 on Sunday, taking the total number of active cases in Pune district to 93,426. Of these 2,904 have been hospitalised while over 90,000 have been home-quarantined.

The active case count in Pimpri Chinchwad was 27,588 while it was 13,864 in Pune rural. The cantonment boards reported 1,556 active cases while municipal councils had 3,555 active patients. Over 12,30,000 recovered from the infection in the district till date. However, over 19,300 died due to the disease in the district till date.
