Pune | Govt issues land acquisition notification for western part of Pune ring road

Pune : Policenama online  -The state government issued a notification to acquire the land in 36 villages out of total 37 villages for the western part of the ring road in Pune which aims to curb traffic congestion in Pune city.

Except for Kelwade, measurement of 329.57 hectares of land in other 36 villages are done. The landowners in these villages will now get to know exactly how much land will be acquired. The project is being implemented by Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). The officials of MSRDC completed the measurement work.

The proposed ring road is a circular outer road for the Pune metropolitan region. The measurement of land for western part is done while for the eastern part its still going on. For the western part, total 629.57 hectares of land is being acquired including 90.92 hectares from Bhor, 204 hectares from Haveli, 117.13 hectares from Maval and 217.30 hectares from Mulshi, according to the Director of MSRDC Chandrakant Pulkundwar and District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh.

A stretch of 68.80 kms will pass through Bhor, Haveli, Mulshi and Maval talukas. 754.82 hectares land will be acquired and the estimated cost for acquisition is Rs 1439.65 crore. The total estimated cost for the project is Rs 12,175 crore. As per the law, a report on land measurement is submitted to the government after answering the suggestions and objections raised on it within a year. Accordingly, the government issued the notification on December 31, 2021 after receiving the report.

This has now cleared the way for valuation of the land deciding the compensation, which will be undertaken by District Collector Rajesh Deshmukh. The valuation of trees, constructions, wells etc. on the land will be decided by the concerned departments, said Sandip Patil, sub-divisional engineer of MSRDC.
