Pune : Policenama online – traffic problems | Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that a green highway is being built from Surat in Gujarat which will reduce traffic problems in Mumbai and Pune. He was speaking at the 12th annual online international research conference organised by Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies.

“India is the fastest growing economy and we are aiming at making it a $ 5 trillion economy. There is lot opportunity for participation of new engineers in infrastructure projects. Their expertise can be used for effective management of money, time and the quality of construction,’’ he added.

“India is the biggest market for electric vehicles. This is the best option compared to other forms of energy. We are promoting the use of ethanol compared to petrol and it is cheaper and environment friendly. We are publicising the use of green hydrogen for railways and sea transport,’’ he added.

The Founder of Symbiosis, SB Mujumdar, said, “Gadkari has the confidence to stand up for a cause and he likes to listen to the views of others. He also has the ability to think out of the box. Gadkari and his management is an ideal case study for students of Symbiosis.’’

Brigadier (Dr) Rajiv Divekar made the introductory remarks while Dr Vidya Yeravdekar thanked the audience.
