Pune | Kalicharan Maharaj remanded in police custody
Pune : Policenama online – Controversial godman Kalicharan Maharaj has been remanded in police custody for a day for giving an inflammatory speech and spreading enmity among communities. The Pune police arrested him on Wednesday.
He was produced in the Shivajinagar court when the court issued the order. He was earlier arrested for making offensive statements about Mahatma Gandhi in a religious congregation in Raipur, Chattisgarh.
Shivpratap Din was organised by the Samast Hindu Aghadi at Natubaug in Pune recently. Kalicharan Maharaj had given the inflammatory speech in this programme. An offence was registered against him, along with Milind Ekbote, Mohanrao Shete, Dipak Nagpure, Captain Digendrakumar, and Nandkishor Ekbote at the Khadak police station.
