Pune: The Lok Sabha elections are being fought between those who see India as one unity versus those who divide between the South and the North. This is a tussle between those who put the nation first and those who put their family first, said senior BJP leader and former Union minister Prakash Javadekar.

He was addressing a press meet on Tuesday. Maha Yuti Coordinator Sandeep Khardekar, state spokesman Sanjay Mayekar, Hemant Lele, and Pushkar Tuljapurkar were present.

Javadekar said, “The country has progressed due to the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past 10 years. India’s stature has risen in the world. The Modi government’s schemes have reached every citizen of the country. People’s trust in Modi has increased. Therefore, the BJP-led NDA is going to get the majority.

“The Modi government has implemented big infrastructure projects such as railways, ports, waterways and airports. Every family in India has benefited from this.

“Around 77 lakh people use the internet in the country. India has the cheapest data rate in the world. Money is deposited directly in beneficiaries’ accounts under various schemes. The Modi government has deposited Rs 34 crore in bank accounts of the poor. Therefore, people are going to vote for Modi. Over 20 crore jobs have been generated due to the Mudra loans disbursed to 35 crore youths and women. This has strengthened the Indian economy.

“The opposition is boasting of restricting the NDA’s tally up to 272. They are making such statements out of despondency and sensing the defeat. They have launched a false campaign. Vested interests within and outside the country are helping the opposition. Their campaign is being run as per a toolkit. However, they will be defeated.”
