Pune-Nashik High Speed Railway | Pune-Nashik high speed railway project receives green signal from Railway Ministry
Pune : Policenama online – Pune-Nashik High Speed Railway | The Maharashtra government’s ambitious project, the Pune-Nashik semi high speed railway, has received the green signal. The project has received approval from Niti Aayog and the Ministry of Railways. Against this background, the work on the project is likely to begin soon. The Centre is going to contribute 20 per cent of the total expenditure on the project.
The Railway Ministry had conducted a meeting on Thursday. The director of the railway corporation and officials were present. During this meeting, the final approval for the Pune-Nashik high speed railway project was given by Niti Aayog and the Railway Ministry.
The project is being implemented by Maharashtra State Railway Corporation. The project will pass through Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik districts. In these three districts, 1,470 hectar land is going to be acquired. The expenditure on this project will be Rs 16,000 crore and now, the project has received approval from the Railway Ministry.
