Pune News: Pravin Gedam appointed Agricultural Commissioner of state; Sunil Chavan transferred after 11 months


PUNE: Policenama online – Pune News | Agricultural Commissioner Sunil Chavan has been transferred and Pravin Gedam has been appointed in his place. Chavan had taken charge only 11 months ago and he was transferred before the end of his tenure. It is expected that Gedam may take charge on Friday. Gedam is known for his excellent administrative skills and his appointment is expected to speed up the work of the agricultural department. (Pune News)

Chavan has been transferred to the department of soil and conservation as secretary. The state government issued an order on Thursday. Eknath Davle was holding that post and his new posting has not been announced. Gedam had recently returned to the state government after completing his study leave.

Gedam hails from Nagpur and has a MBBS degree. He has served as civic chief of Jalgaon, CEO of Latur Zilla Parishad, collector of Dharashiv and Solapur districts and civic chief of Nashik. He has also worked as commissioner of the transport department.
