Pune News: Two youths injured after being attacked by leopards in Junnar forest area

PUNE : Policenama online – Pune News | Two two-wheeler riders were injured when they were attacked by a leopard in a span of 15 minutes at Kabadwadi in Junnar taluka. The incident took place on Saturday night (October 14). However, there was no loss of life. The incident took place in the Junnar forest area. (Pune News)
Devraj Singh (23), a resident of Junnar taluka, was travelling from Kabadwadi towards Junnar. When they crossed a stream at Kabadwadi village, he was attacked by a leopard. Devraj Singh was injured on his thigh.
After 15 minutes, when another youth Vaibhav Gawari (27), a resident of Junnar taluka, was travelling from Junnar towards Kabadwadi, he was attacked by a leopard. Gawari was injured on his right ankle. Gawari said he was lucky to have escaped with a minor injury. Forest Officer of Junnar Pradeep Chavan said that both the youths had been treated at the government hospital at Junnar.
Deputy Sarpanch Manesh Butte Patil said that the PWD should take a serious note of this incident and remove the overgrown shrubs on the roadsides and install streetlights which would help in reducing the attacks by leopards.
