Pune: Painex Foundation, in Collaboration with International Para Swimmer Suyash Jadhav, Launches Awareness Initiative on Rare ‘Phantom Limb Pain’ Condition

Pune, India: Painex Foundation, a leading name in healthcare and pain management, has joined hands with renowned international para swimmer Suyash Jadhav to launch this initiative aimed at raising awareness about the Phantom Limb Pain condition. Suyash Jadhav, 30, a para-athlete who lost both his palms and wrists in an accident at 11, will be actively involved in this initiative, drawing from his personal experiences.
Phantom Limb Pain is a complex condition where individuals experience pain or discomfort in a limb that is no longer there. Suyash, who began his swimming journey at the age of three, has been facing the challenges of Phantom Limb Pain himself. His unique perspective adds a personal touch to the initiative, emphasizing the need for understanding and addressing the complexities of this condition.
Announcing this unique Initiative, the press conference was graced by the esteemed presence of Mr. Suyash Jadhav, Dr. Kashinath Bangar, Dr. Nivedita Page of Painex Foundation.
Approximately 60%–80% of amputees experience phantom limb sensations, highlighting the prevalence and significance of this often-overlooked aspect of post-amputation challenges. Through real-life case studies and narratives, the Painex Foundation aims to illustrate the diverse experiences individuals have with Phantom Limb Pain, dispelling myths and fostering a deeper understanding of the condition.
