July 9, 2024

Pune: Probationary IAS officer Dr Puja Khedkar has been finally transferred from the District Collectorate, Pune to Washim. District Collector Dr Suhas Diwase sent a letter-cum-report to the Additional Chief Secretary about Puja’s conduct and recommended her transfer to another district.

The probationary IAS officer grabbed the antechamber of the Additional District Collector. She not only installed the amber lamp on her personal car but also wrote Maharashtra Government on it. Senior officers tried to persuade her from her consistent demands but she did not listen to them. Finally, a report was sent and action was taken.

Khedkar joined as the probationary Assistant District Collector at the District Collectorate, Pune on June 3, 2024. However, she messaged the District Collector and the Resident Deputy Collector to arrange a separate seating arrangement, a car, a residence and a peon for her.

She insisted that she should have these facilities. However, a probationary IAS officer has to work for two years without such facilities. They are appointed only after completing the probation. Meanwhile, they are supposed to work in various departments.

Khedkar used to switch on the amber lamp on her private car during the daytime also. The report stated that Puja’s father, who was a gazetted officer, also behaved in an improper manner with senior officers. Diwase attached photos of some WhatsApp chats with the report. Finally, a serious note of the matter was taken and Puja Khedkar was transferred to Washim.
