Pune: A case of financial embezzlement has been registered against the chairman of the Chatrapati Multistate Cooperative Society in the Kharadi area of Pune for cheating the depositor woman. This incident took place between March 1, 2023, and May 16, 2024. In this regard, Rajkumar Bhajanlal Hemdev (age 64), a resident of Magarpatta City, Hadapsar, filed a complaint at Hadapsar police station on Thursday, May 16.

According to the complaint filed by Hemdev, the Chatrapati Multistate Cooperative Society in Kharadi has promised to pay 12 percent interest per hundred per annum. Accordingly, his wife deposited Rs 5 lakh for one year on March 1, 2023, in the cooperative society.

However, even after the expiration of the period, the plaintiff’s wife did not get her invested money back with returns.
