Pune: Rupee Bank appeals to depositors to apply for refund of deposits up to Rs 5 lakh
Pune: Rupee Co-operative Bank has appealed to its depositors or account holders to apply for the refund of their deposits up to Rs 5 lakh. The bank has asked them to contact their respective branches and to apply in any branch, along with necessary documents.
The co-operative bank was liquidated on November 1, 2022. The Co-operation Commissioner appointed Dhananjay Doiphode as the Liquidator on the bank. Doiphode has assumed charge of the post. As per the liquidation procedure, the depositors were appealed to apply in their respective branch, along with KYC documents, who did not get the assured deposit sum up to Rs 5 lakh. Thus, the bank is processing all such applications for deposits amounting up to Rs 5 lakh. Deposits totally valued at Rs 796.20 crore have been refunded till date.
The bank has been directed to refund all types of deposits up to Rs 5 lakh as early as possible to all those depositors. Therefore, the depositors who have still not applied for the refund should immediately contact their branch and submit their application in any branch of the bank, stated a release.
