Pune: Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s 11th descendant dies by suicide

Pune: Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s 11th descendant and noted Speaker Shirish Maharaj More ended life at his residence in Dehu. He was 30 and was the President of the Shiv Shambho Pratishthan. A pall of gloom descended over the temple town. The reason behind the incident could not be ascertained.

Shirish Maharaj More’s engagement ceremony took place recently. He used to speak about harassment of the Hindus. His speeches on ‘Love Jihad’, ‘Land Jihad’ hogged the limelight. His untimely death shocked all in Dehu. He was known as a ‘Shiv Vyakhyata’.

He went to sleep after having dinner on Tuesday (January 4). However, he did not open the door of his room in the morning. Some family members broke open the door and found him hanging from the ceiling. It is said that he was facing financial problems. His engagement ceremony took place last month. The wedding was planned in April.

In a condolence message, State Minister Nitesh Rane posted on his X handle: ‘The descendant of Sant Tukaram Maharaj, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s volunteer HaBhaPa Shirish Maharaj More passed away today. May God give the More family the strength to bear this loss and may his soul rest in peace’.
