Schools in Pune to remain closed for some more days: Ajit Pawar

Pune : Policenama online Covid-19 cases in the State are rising. Positivity rate in Pune has shot up. It was unanimously decided that schools would not reopen for at least seven days. This was revealed by District Guardian Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday.

 

Covid cases are decreasing in Mumbai. However, they are increasing steadily in Pune. According to experts, they will increase for some more days. Positivity rate is going up in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune rural areas.

 

City MLAs, the mayors from both cities and other prominent people were present at the Covid review meeting. The decision to not reopen schools in Pune was taken unanimously, said Pawar.

 

He said people not using masks are being penalised. Vaccination is being intensified. The administration has been instructed in this regard. A Covid-Free Village contest has been launched. Over 1,300 gram panchayats are taking part in the contest.
