Pune : Policenama onlineAgitated over frequent accidents on the Mumbai-Bangalore National Highway at Navale Bridge, the Shiv Sena on wednesday organized a mass agitation at the office of the National Highways Authority at Warje.

In the wake of an accident on Tuesday claiming three lives, the Shiv Sena accused the National Highways Authority of negligence. The recent accident led the party to protest against the authority at its office.

Most of the accidents took place due to the steep slope on this patch of the highway in the last few years. But the National Highways Authority takes no preventive measures, the party alleged. Shiv sainiks carried a symbolic funeral of the authority as a mark of protest at the spot.

During the agitation, Nilesh Girme demanded that the authority needs to view the issue seriously and take necessary action immediately. He warned that a case of manslaughter will be filed in the court against the authority, if it fails to take measures.

Vijay Kanase, Nilesh Pol, Vaibhav Thopte, Lokesh Rathod, Aditya Waghmare, Shubham Deshbhratar, Gaurav Deshbhratar, Sarthak Jadhav, Akash Chavan, and many other party activists participated in the agitation.
