Pune: Staffer of a renowned organisation booked for threatening to defame woman doctor
Pune: An employee of a renowned medical research and training institute has been booked by the Koregaon Park Police for threatening to defame a woman doctor and for molesting her.
The incident took place at around 5.30 pm on June 13 and between 10.30 am and 11 am on June 14 on the WhatsApp group and the premises of the institute.
The 43-year-old victim lodged a complaint at the Koregaon Park Police Station in this regard. A case has been registered against accused Sanjiv Katke under sections 509, 506, 500 of the IPC.
According to the police, the complainant and the accused work in the same organisation. The accused attended a funeral, where he filmed a video clip and posted it on the WhatsApp group comprising senior officials and staffers.
He also recorded the conversation of the complainant on his phone and also wrote objectionable remarks about her and sent them to her seniors. When she confronted him the next day, Katke threatened her that he would post on the group the CCTV footage on the office premises.
He also threatened, with an intention to molest her, that he would defame her by posting about her movements on the WhatsApp group, stated the complaint. The police are investigating further.
