Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is yet to complete the signal synchronisation and pedestrian crossing work along the Swargate-Katraj bus rapid transit (BRT) route which has forced the service to stay out of order so far. PMC is yet to fit automatic doors at the 10 bus stops along this route.

Mayor Murlidhar Mohol had announced and directed the PMC officials to carry out necessary work so that the service could be started from January 1. Some buses of the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) were also operated on January 1, however now the service has again stopped.

The PMPML has given a letter to the PMC to complete pending work related to signal synchronisation, signal timings, security at the bus stops, etc. If the BRT route becomes operational, commuters can avail those public transport services and cover the distance of 8 kilometres in just 15 minutes.
