Pune | Temperatures may rise across Maharashtra: Indian Meteorological Department

Pune : Policenama online – Cold weather conditions are likely to subside in the State from Thursday night. Minimum temperature at night is likely to increase. Cold wave conditions prevailed in Vidarbha on Wednesday too. However, temperatures may also rise in Vidarbha.

 

Minimum temperatures have risen in central Maharashtra, except in Jalgaon and Solapur. Cold wave conditions in northern states resulted in dipping temperatures in Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. Mercury recorded below 10 deg C at many places. Weather is still dry and skies are clear in Maharashtra.

 

Snowfall may occur in Kashmir and Himalayan belt after December 24. Hence, cold weather will continue to prevail for some time in Maharashtra. However, temperatures will not drop drastically below normal.

 

The lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Jalgaon at 7.3 deg C. It hovered around 8-9 deg C in Amravati, Gondia, Nagpur, Wardha in Vidarbha. Pune, Nashik and Solapur recorded minimum temperatures of around 11-12 deg C. Temperature is below average in Ratnagiri in Konkan. It is around 10-11 deg C in Aurangabad, Parbhani and Beed.
