Pune | Two doses mandatory for tourists to enter Lonavala hill station

Pune : Policenama online   Pune |  New guidelines in the backdrop of Omicron virus infections have been issued by the state government. If you are planning New Year celebrations at any of the hill stations around Pune, you should know the new guidelines.

In Lonavala, only those tourists having taken both anti-Covid-19 doses will be allowed to enter the hill station. Council squads will check documents of tourists arriving in Lonavala.

Omicron infections are increasing in Maharashtra. It is also increasing in Pune. Crowds are likely to swell in Lonavala ahead of Christmas and on the New Year’s Eve. The administration is taking precautions to check the spread of the disease. Senior PI Sitaram Dubal and Council Chief Officer Somnath Jadhav have jointly appealed to tourists to follow the protocol.

The municipal council and police have instructed hotel owners to admit only those tourists who have taken two mandatory doses. Council squads are monitoring tourist movements and conducting random checks. Moreover, 150 police personnel have been deployed at various places, said Dubal.
