Pune: Youth tries to end life due to family dispute, alert Mundhwa police save his life (Video)


Pune: A youth tried to end life due to a family dispute. However, the Mundhwa Police came to know about this in time. They dissuaded the youth from taking the extreme step.

The incident happened in the Kawade Road area in Ghorpadi at around 10 pm on Sunday. The youth has been identified as Vijay Bhau Pasaalkar (36).

Beat marshals for the Ghorpadi area from the Mundhwa Police Station, Pravin Holkar and Jagadish Mahanavar, were on duty when they received a call that a person was trying to commit suicide at flat no. 28, lane no. 7 at Nigde Nagar. Holkar and Mahanavar immediately rushed to the spot. They brought Vijay Pasalkar to the police station.

When the police asked him the reason behind his decision to end life, he told them that he was distressed over a family dispute concerning a property. Hence, he wanted to commit suicide. Realising the seriousness of the matter, Sr PI Mahesh Bolkotgi contacted Pasalkar’s relatives and dissuaded Pasalkar from taking the extreme step. Pasalkar was happy with this and assured him that he would not do any such thing. He also gave a written statement in this regard. The Mundhwa Police arranged for his counselling. This changed his mind. Citizens are praising the Mundhwa Police for their promptness and humanity.

The commendable work was done under the guidance of Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaarr, Joint CP (addl charge) Ramnath Pokale, Addl CP Ranjan Kumar Sharma and DCP (Zone 5) R Raja. Senior PI Mahesh Bolkotgi instructed API Raskar, policemen Pravin Holkar and Jagadish Mahanavar to carry out the task.
