Retesh Kumaarr takes charge as the new Pune CP


Pune : Policenama online Pune CP Retesh Kumaarr | Newly appointed Commissioner of police (CP) Retesh Kumaarr took charge of the office on Friday. He was transferred from the CID as the Addl DGP to head the Pune Police. The outgoing CP Amitabh Gupta has been shifted to Mumbai as Addl DGP (Law and Order).


A brief introduction of the new CP
The 1991 IPS batch officer is known to be a quiet police officer. Retesh Kumaarr was the Superintendent of Police of Sangli district earlier. He also served as the Addl CP in the Mumbai Police. He was posted in the State CID as the IG. Later, he was transferred to the Wireless Department in Pune as the DGP. Retesh Kumaarr was heading the State CID before joining as the Pune CP.


CP Retesh Kumaarr was instrumental in winning two major National Awards for the State Wireless Department for its modernisation and for the optimum use of advanced technology to preserve the confidential data safely. Following his posting last year at the State CID, he sped up its procedures. He implemented the CCTNS/ICJS systems successfully in Maharashtra. The Central Government honoured him and other officials from the State CID for this.
