Rs 28 lakh seized in Kasba Peth constituency so far by flying squads
Pune : Policenama online – Pune Kasba Peth Bypoll Election | Since the announcement of the election programme in Kasba Peth Assembly Constituency, the administration has checked 13,542 vehicles and in five incidents of checking at checkpoints and by flying squad, a total amount of Rs 28.18 has been seized. As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, campaigning for the Kasba Peth Assembly by-election is prohibited from 6 pm on Friday. The police force has also been increased and the administration has planned to tighten the inspection at checkpoints. Kasba Peth Assembly Constituency Returning Officer Sneha Kisve-Devkate said that instructions have been given to the police administration to ensure that no untoward incident takes place anywhere after the end of the campaign and to maintain law and order.
In the backdrop of Chinchwad Assembly by-election on Friday in Dalvi Nagar area of Chinchwad, the SST team has found cash of over Rs 14 lakh in a vehicle. This money has been handed over to the department concerned for further investigation. The cash was found during the inspection conducted by the team on Friday afternoon.
