Mumbai: The State Government has decided that a Rs 50,000 fine will be recovered for cutting a tree without permission. This was decided in the State Cabinet’s meeting, which was held in Mumbai under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday.

The Cabinet also discussed speeding up infrastructural facilities in small cities. DyCM Devendra Fadnavis, DyCM Ajit Pawar and many ministers were present at the meeting held at the Cabinet Auditorium in the Mantralaya.

Other important decisions

*Big irrigation projects will be launched in the district, where farmer suicides have taken place. The ambitious Wainganga-Nalganga River-linking project has been approved. Around 3.75 lakh hectare area will be brought under irrigation

*A policy to give flats to the project-affected has been approved

*Infrastructural development in small cities will be expedited. Procuring a loan for the purpose has been okayed

*Primary teachers in tribal areas have been given a two-year extension to qualify in the test

*Issues in procuring caste, validation certificates will be removed. Regulations will be changed to facilitate this

*Rs 50,000 fine for cutting a tree without permission

*The Maharashtra Logistics Policy will be implemented. Rs 30,000 crore revenue will be earned in five years

*An Ayurvedic college will be opened in Kagal. A yoga and naturopathy college will be set up in Ajra in Kolhapur district

*Domestic helps, drivers will be provided to judges and chief justices after retirement

*100-pc stamp duty waived for the Sena Kalyan Shaikshanik Sanstha and Radha Kalyandas Daryanani Charitable Trust

*Financial assistance will be given to the Shri Kukdeshwar Adivasi Hirda Audyogik Sahakari Sanstha, Junnar

*The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign will be launched in a big way in the State from August 9. Tricolour will be hoisted on 2.5 crore homes. Various other programmes have also been organised

*Establishment of a research and training institute for minorities has been approved
