Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Feb 27 (UNI) – Union Women and Child Welfare cabinet Minister Smriti Irani on Monday said that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the importance of sanitation facilities considering the pain, suffering and hardships of women.

 

The beneficiary women are blessing Modi for making toilet facilities available in every house, she said.

 

In order to reach the beneficiaries of the schemes implemented for women in the country, a campaign has been undertaken on behalf of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to take a Selfie with one crore beneficiaries and send the relevant photograph to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

 

She was speaking at the function launching the campaign in the country was in her presence from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar while the national president of BJP Mahila Aghadi Vanadhiakka started from Tamil Nadu.

 

There are beneficiaries of various schemes in the country including Ujwala Yojana, Sukanya Yojana, Matruvandana Yojana, Ayushman Yojana, Kovid Las, Amrithar Yojana.

 

Selfie with Beneficiary campaign photo will be uploaded on Namo and Saral app.

 

Irani further said that the women and child welfare department of the center has given funds of Rs 11,212 crores to the state in a year for various schemes.

 

During the Congress period, not even 1100 crores were received. 1.12 lakh smartphones were distributed to Anganwadi employees. Three crore poor people got houses in the country and eleven crore families got toilets.

 

She said that eleven crore families have been provided water under the Jaljivan Mission.

 

She used to play the role of mother-in-law in the TV serial Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

 

Sanjay Kenekar recommended the mother-in-law to be the head of the women’s front.

 

Vijaya Rahatkar supported to take the post of National President of Mahila Aghadi.

 

Smriti Irani said that she was able to defeat Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the Amethi Lok Sabha only because she got the inspiration from Kenekar and Rahatkar to stay on the ground and work without any desire for power, she said.

 

While Regional BJP Women’s Aghadi President Chitra Wagh said that 152 lakh postcards have been sent through the beneficiaries in honor of Modi from the state.

 

Union Finance Minister Dr. Bhagwat Karad said that 58 percent out of the 48 crore Jandhan accounts in the country are women.

 

National Secretary Vijaya Rahatkar, Cooperation Minister Atul Save, State General Secretary Sanjay Kenekar, Meetha Kulkarni, Varsha Bhosale also spoke.
