State Government seeks Rs 3,000 crore loan for Ladki Bahin Yojana from Reserve Bank of India
Pune: The Maha Yuti government has made many announcements in the backdrop of the upcoming State Assembly polls. The Mukhyamantri Mazi Ladki Bahin Yojana has become a topic of discussion. However, the state coffers are empty.
Meanwhile, the State Government is trying to raise funds for the Ladki Bahin Yojana through various sources. As a result, citizens will have to cough up a stamp duty of Rs 500 to register a document. Earlier, it was Rs 100-200. This indicates curtailing of other welfare schemes for the Ladki Bahin Yojana.
Meanwhile, the state government’s loan burden is mounting. In this backdrop, the Maha Yuti government has now knocked on the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) door and has sought a loan of Rs 3,000 crore.
As many as 2.52 crore applications have been received for the Ladki Bahin Yojana. Of them, 2.41 crore applications have been approved. Over 1.85 crore women are currently beneficiaries under the scheme. Rs 3,620 crore is needed to distribute per month under the scheme. The annual distribution under the plan will be Rs 43,440 crore.
