Sunita Dhangar Arrested | NMC Education Officer Sunita Dhangar held for accepting bribe; ₹85 lakh cash and 32 tola gold found in her house
NASHIK : Sunita Dhangar Arrested | The Nashik ACB had arrested Education Officer of Nashik Municipal Corporation Sunita Subhash Dhangar (57) for accepting a bribe of ₹50,000 and clerk Nitin Anil Joshi for accepting a bribe of ₹5,000. When Sunita Dhangar’s house was checked, ACB officials found ₹85 lakh cash and 32 tola of gold which has been seized.
Information is available that Dhangar owns two flats and a plot. Dhangar stays in a 3 BHK flat and its value is ₹1.5 crore. She has a plot in Adgaon and she owns two flats in Tilakwadi and Untwadi. This information was given by Nashik Range SP Sharmistha Gharge Walawalkar.
The complainant was working as principal in an educational institute but has been dismissed. He had appealed against the decision in Education Tribunal, Nashik and the decision to dismiss him had been stayed. However, the institute was not allowing him to resume work.
The complainant had made an application to Education Officer Sunita Dhangar of NMC to take action against the institute. However, Dhangar demanded a bribe of ₹50,000 to issue an official letter. However, since the complainant was not ready to pay a bribe, he lodged a complaint with the ACB. The ACB verified the complaint and laid a trap. Dhangar was arrested red handed while accepting a bribe of ₹50,000. Civic employee Nitin Joshi accepted a bribe of ₹5,000 to prepare an official letter.
The action was taken by PI Sandeep Ghuge, PI Gayatri Jadhav, policemen Eknath Baviskar, Prakash Mahajan and Nitin Netare under the guidance of SP Sharmistha Gharge-Walawalkar and DySP Narendra Pawar.
