Telangana : AIMIM to contest 50 seats in next Assembly election : Akbaruddin Owaisi

Hyderabad, Feb 5 (UNI) – Akbaruddin Owaisi | All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi has stated that his party would contest 50 seats in the 2023 Assembly election in Telangana and come to the house with at least 15 legislators.
Owaisi said this during a verbal spat with Telangana Information Technology Minister K T Rama Rao after the latter said during the debate on ‘Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s Address in the Assembly yesterday that AIMIM presently having 7 MLAs were speaking for hours in the house and asked how much time the BRS party get with a strength of 105 MLAs.
Taking strong exception to Minister’s comments, Owaisi said “I have taken a very serious note of comments which KTR has passed on the AIMIM and I assure him that I am going to make sure that I will talk to Party Chief Asaduddin Owaisi and see that the party contest 50 seats in the Assembly election and ensure the victory of 15 MLAs.
The AIMIM floor leader, however promised that the party would work with the ruling BRS government.
