Bangalore : Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) senior scientist Tapan Mishra has claimed he was poisoned three years ago. He said, during a promotion interview at ISRO headquarters on May 23, 2017, he was given dangerous arsenic trioxide. He said that he wants the Indian government to investigate this.

Mishra, a former director of the Ahmedabad-based Space Application Center, revealed a long-held secret by writing a Facebook post on Tuesday. In the afternoon breakfast, he was given a fatal dose of poison mixed in a chutney served with dosa. Mishra, currently working as a senior consultant at ISRO, will be relieved at the end of this month. However he does not know who gave him the poison and why.

He wrote that in July 2017, the Home Department security officials cautioned him about the danger from arsenic. Mishra said that only due to the information he gave to the doctors, he was treated accurately and he could survive. However, the poison had such a bad effect on the body that he had to undergo treatment for a long time. He had difficulty breathing, fungal infections and many skin problems. He has also posted his test report, treatment form and photos of skin problems on Facebook.
