Two police personnel, including an API, suspended in Pune

Pune : Policenama online – Pune Police API Suspended | Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik has suspended an API and a policeman for helping the MCOCA accused to escape by unlocking on the pretext of house search without any prior permission. (Pune Police API Suspended)
The names of the suspected officials are API Ramdas Zumber Mundhe and policeman Mahesh Rajendra Jadhav. The Avinash Gupta gang had looted around Rs 28 lakh by firing at Angadia’s office at Market Yard. The police arrested Gupta’s gang members. CP Retesh Kumaarr had approved an MCOCA action against them last month.
Investigation of this case was handed over to the ACP Wanwadi Division. Ramdas Mundhe and Mahesh Jadhav took out Santosh Pawar and Sai Kumbhar, among the nine accused, out of police custody without permission. Sai Kumbhar’s friend Rakesh Navsare was told that Kumbhar was being brought to Khanapur for a house search. The two were taken to Khanapur without any adequate police security. Santosh Pawar escaped during this. As their irresponsible and careless misconduct on police duty led to the escape of the accused, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik has suspended both.
