Pune : Policenama onlineShri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Marg | Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, MP Ranjit Singh Naik Nimbalkar and other officials conducted an aerial survey of the Shree Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj palkhi route which links two important pilgrimage spots i.e. Alandi and Pandharpur. (Shri Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi Marg)

 

The Shree Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj palkhi highway (NH 965) is a 234 km route (Hadapsar-Saswad-Jejuri-Nira-Lonand-Phaltan-Natepute-Malshiras-Bondle-Vakhri-Pandharpur) and a separate route for palkhi has been created along the four lane highway.

 

Saplings will be planted on both sides of the highway. At some places, sculptures of saints will be kept and mural paintings will be used to beautify the route and it will benefit warkaris.

 

Special saplings including sandalwood, holy basil (tulsi), banyan, neem, peepal and tamarind are being planted along the route.

 

At present, 57,200 saplings have been planted in the middle of the highway and 18,840 saplings have been planted on both the sides of the highway.
