Weather Forecast Today | Maharashtra may receive heavy rain for next four days, yellow alert issued in nine districts
Pune : Policenama online – A severe cold wave is sweeping across North India and many places are witnessing snowfall there. This has resulted in rapid weather changes in Maharashtra, including Mumbai.
Mercury has dropped at many places in the State in the past 24 hours. Heavy to very heavy rainfall, along with a thunderstorm, has been predicted in the State, including Marathwada and Vidarbha in the next four days.
A yellow alert has been issued for Monday in Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded, Wardha, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Bhandara, Gondia and Gadchiroli districts. Heavy rains, accompanied with a thunderstorm, is likely to occur in the nine districts in a few hours from now. A hailstorm is also likely at isolated places in these districts. Rain may happen at sporadic places in Aurangabad, Beed, Jalna, Latur and Osmanabad districts. Cloudy skies have been reported in these districts.
These weather conditions will prevail in the coming three days in the State. Rain activity will lessen after Friday.
The met office has issued a yellow alert for Tuesday in Wardha, Yavatmal, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Bhandara, Gondia and Gadchiroli districts.
North India is witnessing western disturbances. This is resulting in gathering of moisture in the Arabian Sea. These weather conditions will prevail for another 3-4 days. Light to medium rainfall may occur during 10-13 January in north-western and central India due to the combined effect of winds blowing from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal.
A hailstorm, along with a thunderstorm, may occur in Marathwada and Vidarbha for the next three days.
