Mumbai : Policenama online After BJP state president Chandrakant Patil made a statement that the state government will change on March 10, state Congress president Nana Patole said that there will be major changes in the state government after March 10. Patole’s remarks have created a flutter in political circles in the state.

Patil had earlier also made statements about changes in the state government but nothing happened. Hence, it is not necessary to take his statements seriously, said MVA leaders.

On March 10, the results of the assembly elections in five states including Uttar Pradesh are going to be declared. Patil’s statement is being looked at in connection with the results. Patole, while speaking with reporters in Bhandara on Wednesday, said the time has come to make corrective changes in the state government.

“There are 12 Congress ministers in the government. Elections in five states are underway and I have spoken with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Give me time till March 10. Some corrective measures are necessary for what is happening in the state government,’’ Patole said.

There is speculation whether some ministers may be replaced and whether any of them will get a chance to become the assembly speaker. Patole is the state Congress chief and may be interested in becoming a minister.

“The claims that the government will collapse have no basis because the MVA government is strong and united. The government will never collapse due to the pressure tactics of the BJP. We will jointly stand up to the pressure tactics of the BJP-led central government. Even if BJP leaders talk about various dates, the government is strong,’’ Patole added.
