Delhi witnesses foggy morning, minimum temp settled at 15.8 degrees

New Delhi, May 4 (UNI) – Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) | The people of Delhi on Thursday woke up to a foggy morning, which is rare for the month of May, with the minimum temperature recorded at 15.8 degree Celsius, Nine degrees below the average normal, as per Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

 

The thick Fog conditions developed after continuous spells of rainfall in the region under the influence of successive western disturbances.

 

As per IMD, Delhi recorded rainfall up to 20.9 mm in the last 24 hours.

 

Delhi recorded more than 20 mm of rainfall in April, the highest in the month since 2017, due to back-to-back western disturbances.

 

The National Capital on an average receives 29.4 mm of rainfall in May, this year the city has already recorded more than 36 mm of precipitation in the first three days of the month.

 

For today, the maximum temperatures in the city would be hovering around 32 degrees, while Minimum would be settled at around 17 degrees Celsius.

 

Meanwhile, the Weather department has predicted another spell from Friday onwards.

 

Another western disturbance is likely to affect northwest India starting May 5.

 

Under its influence, cloudy skies and sporadic rain is predicted in the capital until May 7, an IMD official said.
