New York: Former RuPaul’s Drag Race star Chi Chi DeVayne has died at age 34. Fellow Drag Racer Trinity K. Bonet confirmed the news on Instagram.
“Love you lil sister..rest on,” she wrote, sharing a photo of the beloved drag performer.

DeVayne went on to become one of the show’s favourite contestants when she joined the cast on season 8, in 2016, and made it to the top four. Known for her southern charm, quick wit and contagious laughter, DaVayne came back to the third season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars in 2018, finishing in 8th place.
Chi Chi DaVayne, the stage name of Zavion Davenport, was hospitalised in July, with suspected kidney failure, according to Entertainment Weekly. She was discharged later that month. On Saturday she posted on Instagram a message telling her fans that she was back in the hospital.
