New Delhi : Policenama Online – The Indian Council of Medical Research has approved the use of the drug used in the treatment of malaria fever for the treatment of patients infected with the corona virus. The National Task Force constituted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has approved the malaria drug hydroxy-chloroquine to treat Covid-19.

The Health Ministry made it clear at a press conference on Monday that they have issued this advisory for those who are treating suspected or confirmed corona patients. ICMR director general Balaram Bhargava said that hydroxy-chloroquine should be given to people at high risk of exposure to health workers and suspected or confirmed cases of corona virus.

Use only in limited quantities
The Treatment Protocol recommended by the National Task Force has also been approved by the General Controller of India. However, this medicine will be used in limited quantities in emergency situations.

There is no medicine for children
This medicine is not recommended for children under 15 years of age. Apart from this, people struggling with eye problems have also been told not to use this medicine. According to the consultation, this medicine should be given only on the instructions of the registered medical professional.
