Mumbai : On Thursday, 2933 new patients of coronavirus were reported from Maharashtra, after which the total cases in the state increased to 77,793. In the state, the death toll has risen to 2710 with 123 people killed in the last 24 hours. Talking about Mumbai, 1442 new patients came on Thursday and 48 people died. After the arrival of new patients, the total cases in Mumbai has increased to 44,704. So far, 1465 people have died in the city.

The figure reached 1872 in Dharavi

On Thursday, 23 new cases of Coronavirus infection occurred in Dharavi, Mumbai, with the number of infected in the area taking to 1872. An official of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) gave this information. He said that in the last 24 hours, there has been no case of death from this deadly virus.

So far 71 people have died due to infection in this slum. Dharavi falls in BMC’s G-North administrative ward, with the highest number of 2820 cases of COVID-19 found in all 24 wards so far. Of the total 2820, 1872 cases are from Dharavi alone. Thereafter 574 and 347 cases are of Mahim and Dadar respectively. About 1.5 million people live in slums in Dharavi, one of the largest slums in Asia.
